Jadon Sancho’s potential return to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United is ‘developing into a transfer farce’ as he’s still waiting for approval for the loan deal.
That’s according to Ruhr Nachrichten and Sky Germany, who both cover the transfer today and how it is yet to be ratified.
Dortmund appeared to be racing towards and agreement to bring Sancho back to the club this week, with numerous reports explaining that a deal between the two sides was imminent.
That was until yesterday, when it was explained that there had been a last-minute hitch in the deal and an arranged flight to take Sancho from Manchester to Dortmund had to be cancelled.
That was followed by an explanation that the two sides were negotiating the final details of the move and whether a purchase clause would be included, with it eventually stated that Manchester United had blocked that idea outright.
Sky and Ruhr Nachrichten now say there has been a further delay, explaining that a first flight was booked for Friday and then cancelled. A new flight was arranged for Saturday, but this was apparently cancelled as well.
Journalist Patrick Berger covered this for Sky, with Der Westen covering his comments on that matter.
“Jadon Sancho is still waiting for the green light. The private jet from Manchester that was originally booked for today is not supposed to be there yet. Still no breakthrough,” he reportedly said.
That’s been followed up by claims from England that the deal may only happen next week instead, despite nobody explaining what the apparent problem is. Either way, Sancho’s inclusion in Dortmund’s training camp is now in ‘serious jeopardy’.
Ruhr Nachrichten, meanwhile, state that the whole affair is ‘developing into a transfer farce’ as Dortmund are still waiting for the ‘release’ from Manchester United.
They confirm that, once again, their booked flight for Sancho ‘remains on the ground’ and he won’t be flying anytime soon.
It’s all a bit of a mess and, as has often been the case with Manchester United in recent years, a very simple deal has somehow become very complicated.
