On Thursday, Iranian outlet IMNA revealed Manchester United’s interest in Porto striker Mehdi Taremi.
It was claimed that the Red Devils, as well as Bayern Munich, are ‘seriously looking’ to sign the 30-year-old this summer. Plus the Bundesliga giants would be ready to spend €15m ‘or more’ on the transfer.
The news about that chase soon arrived in the Portuguese media, and newspaper O Jogo now makes it clear that Manchester United and any other interested club would actually need to spend more on the signing.
In a story today, the outlet claims that it’s take above €20m to take Taremi from Porto this summer. He’s well valued by the Dragons, especially for being the top scorer in the Portuguese League this season.
It’s also unlikely the club will give big discounts because they only receive 85% of the transfer, with the player having the other 15%.
Manchester United continue in a quest for a centre-forward, and earlier today, we also saw them getting linked to Benfica striker Gonçalo Ramos.
So Taremi seems to be just one of the many options on the Red Devils’ table, and despite Porto’s demands, he may actually be the cheapest.
