Until David De Gea actually renews his contract at Manchester United, there will be rumours about him being replaced by someone.
The common names are André Onana, Diogo Costa and more recently Dominik Livaković, and the former of these is among the stories early this week.
One of the reasons for that is Manchester United were brought up by Gianluca Di Marzio when talking about the goalkeeper to Sky Italia, relayed by Inter News 24.
The journalist revealed his own information on the subject, making it very clear that the Red Devils have some sort of interest in the Serie A player.
He said: “We have to give credit to Inter Milan, who brought in Onana for free. I understand that Manchester United and Chelsea like him, juts as I can confirm the club rejected the idea of Kepa being included in an exchange. Above all, I believe the amounts I’ve seen are not enough.
“Inter would only sacrifice Onana for amounts above €50m, from €50m upwards. A sort of message to suitors. €40m is not enough.”
This falls in line with what was reported as an exclusive by FC Inter 1908 on Monday, who revealed a meeting between Onana’s agents and Inter and an asking price of €45m.
This was to tell the Italian side that ‘some clubs have already started to get information’ about the player, and among the suitors can be found Chelsea, but they are not ‘the only’ ones from England.
Manchester United aren’t named, but with them heavily linked elsewhere, it’s fair to assume they are among those.
As for Onana, he won’t ‘force his hand’ when it comes to a transfer, and is grateful that they gambled on him when no one else would.
However, he’s also aware that any sale involving him would be pure profit for the club, and that’s what they need this summer.
Therefore, he probably won’t be shocked if they do end up selling him, whether it be to Manchester United or somewhere else.
