It seems Napoli are taking their race against Manchester United for the PSV star Hirving Lozano pretty seriously.

As reported by Italian outlet Calcio Mercato today, the Red Devils’ chase for the player has convinced the Serie A side to make bigger efforts, which could be the reason the rumour has been pushed again recently.

In the rush to guarantee the signing, Napoli have sent emissaries to speak with PSV and Mino Raiola in the last week.

It’s claimed that Lozano has a price tag of €40-45m, but the Italian side are working to get a discount of €10m.

Manchester United are considered to be a strong competitor in the race, and that’s why a big part of the article is dedicated to that. They’re said to be targeting the player ‘in a very concrete way’.

The Red Devils have been linked to the Mexican star for years now, and last week, the president of Pachuca said the club have been following him since he was 16. Lozano is now 23, and fulfilling the potential which started that scouting.
