Manchester United are ‘competing’ with other clubs in the chase for Lille’s Leny Yoro, according to Le10 Sport.
The 18-year-old is a product of the Ligue 1 side’s youth system and was promoted to the first team in 2022. He has been a regular this season [12 league starts] and his displays have seen him become one of the most sought-after players in the market.
It’s claimed there are clubs across all the major leagues that are showing interest in him and among them, Manchester United ‘stand out’.
Le10 Sport explain that Erik ten Hag’s side made contact with both Lille and the player. The ‘first discussions’ have started for a potential deal next month, but the French club are trying to retain their ‘diamond’.
The defender’s deal expires in 2025 and the report states the Ligue 1 side have the intention to extend his contract. Manchester City are also named as a firm contender in the race to sign Yoro.
Manchester United had concerns with their defence this season and along with Yoro, they are also said to be interested in OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
