Manchester United have presented a new offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana, according to the most recent claims from Italy.
Following several reports saying the Red Devils were ready to make a new attempt for the signing, outlet CalcioMercato.it shares the details of this effort.
The outlet writes that Manchester United have now placed a formal bid worth a total of €50m. That’s €45m guaranteed plus €5m in bonuses.
That offer, however, may not be enough. Calcio Mercato say Inter Milan continue to request €60m for the transfer, so there’s still a gap there.
However, the report says the clubs are now ‘significantly closer’.
The talks go on, and the outlet claims that Inter Milan chiefs Beppe Marotta and Piere Ausilio continue to expect a bigger effort from Manchester United to make the deal happen.
On Instagram, Onana posted the following: “Every life has a story and every story has an end… never make fun of anyone”.
Calcio Mercato wonders if that’s a sign of ‘imminent goodbye’ from the Nerazzurri goalkeeper.
The Italian media still sounds optimistic that a deal will be reached in the not so distant future. This extra effort from Manchester United will surely push things closer to that happening.
