For a few months, Manchester United have been linked to Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic. The rumours started in May, when it was said the Red Devils were ‘in contact’ for the signing, and have been dragging until recently, with the 25-year-old still said to be a target.

It turns out that Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg suddenly comes up with an update on this chase now, and there’s actually not very exciting news for the Red Devils.

According to the reporter, Manchester United haven’t placed an official bid for Kalajdzic so far.

Now for those more optimistic, the good news is that even though he could extend his contract with Stuttgart, the Bundesliga side ‘expect him to leave at this stage’.

Plettenberg also claims that the German club are demanding a fee of around €25m, and they seem so prepared for the sale that Bayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee is already pointed out as a potential replacement for him.

So it seems Suttgart are basically waiting for Manchester United or anyone else to bid for the striker, who’s also been linked to other Premier League clubs.
