Manchester United signing entering ‘unknown territory’ – ‘No choice’ but to ‘acclimatise quickly’

After chasing Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong for months, Manchester United ended their pursuit of the Dutchman and signed Casemiro from Real Madrid in August to bolster their midfield.

The Brazil international has since been joined by his compatriot, Antony, as the latter arrived at Old Trafford from Ajax towards the end of the summer window.

Erik ten Hag knows the winger from his time in Amsterdam and handed him his first start in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Casemiro is waiting to make his first start for the Red Devils.

The manager has preferred Scott McTominay in the middle of the pitch alongside Christian Eriksen, which means the five-time Champions League winners has had to come off the bench in the last three matches.

Ten Hag has admitted Casemiro has to adapt to his methods and that is why he has not started so far.

AS state the South American was accustomed to being a starter at Real Madrid and he now enters the ‘unknown territory’ at Manchester United.

The report states the player simply has ‘no choice’ but to work hard to ‘acclimatise quickly’, so that he can start matches for the Premier League side and dethrone McTominay as the start in Ten Hag’s midfield.
