Before Manchester United signed Antony, there was a brief period where claims emerged that the Red Devils had made a huge bid for Joao Felix.

The Atlético Madrid star has been linked with a move to England ever since he was at Benfica, but he chose to head to Spain as the next step in his career.

It’s paid off, as he has impressed under Diego Simeone throughout most of his stay there, but 22-year-old has seen a change in his use this season.

He’s only started three of the last four La Liga games for Atlético, which has led to a lot of talk about an exit, perhaps as early as January.

Fichajes.net in Spain look at where he could end up in the next transfer window, and, of course, name Manchester United as a potential destination for the player.

They explain Erik ten Hag’s side need ‘new blood’ in their squad, and Félix could be an option if Cristiano Ronaldo ‘really ends up leaving next January’, with it being a transfer the club could pull off ‘without any problem’.

The ‘only downside’ for the young Portuguese star in this scenario is that Manchester United aren’t in the Champions League, which is something ‘the player would like to continue doing’.

However, as the website point out, there’s also a chance he won’t get to play in the competition much longer if he stays at Atlético, with them currently third in their group after four games behind Club Brugge and Porto.
