Barcelona continue to look at each member of their squad and wonder if he could be the one to be edged out of the door to provide room in the wage balance for incoming transfers.

Such is the Blaugrana’s financial situation, they need to see the back of someone, and specifically their salary, this month before they bring another player in.

For weeks, the Catalan media have explained that’s the situation with Barcelona and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. They’re keen on the forward and would like to take him away from Manchester United in this window, on a loan deal, but they’re simply not able to until they send someone through the exit.

Mundo Deportivo report the latest player to be pinpointed is Andreas Christensen. He’s been out all season with an achilles issue and now he’s returning to fitness the plan is he could be shipped out.

Intriguingly, it’s claimed Manchester United have the Danish defender ‘in their sights’ but he’s not a priority for the Red Devils so looks like a more long term thing.

However, it’s also made clear 28-year-old Christensen has been reluctant to go anywhere. He has a Barcelona contract lasting lasting until June 2026 and wants to see out every second.

Unless Barcelona can convince him it’s over then he won’t go.

They’ll probably have to keep exploring exit options as they look to finance bringing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
