Panos Armenakas is maybe a name we’re all going to have to get used to. The 18 year old Udinese playmaker is enjoying a good start to the current season, and that’s attracted attention from outside of Italy.
The youngster has experience of English football, at least at a youth level, having been with Watford from 2012 to 2014.
The Pozzo family own both Watford and Udinese and that leads to many players moving between the two clubs. Granada also used to be part of the group, giving the Pozzo family sides in England, Italy and Spain, but they sold the club this year.
Armenakas was born in the US, before moving to Australia as a child. He’s represented Australia at youth level, but also Greece. Given that the player holds Greece nationality, he wouldn’t need a work permit – Brexit pending.
As a 7 year old, the youngster was linked with interest from various European clubs including Barcelona, but moved to Brescia in 2011.
