It’s no secret that the Red Devils will need a centre-back in the next transfer window, and the Brazilian appears to be top of the list at Old Trafford in the coming months.
Whether Manchester United do manage to lure him away from Juventus remains to be seen, but the general consensus is they will give it a go, as Corriere dello Sport suggest on Tuesday.
The newspaper look into the player’s form, and how integral he has been to Max Allegri’s plans, having recently renewed until 2028 with the Serie A side, but that means very little these days.
As pointed out, a good offer from a big club could ‘change the strategies’ in Turin, and Manchester United are the ones ‘seriously targeting’ the 26-year-old.
In short, Manchester United need to put a hefty sum of money in front of the Italian directors to get their way, which has never been a problem in the past for the Premier League side when they have concretely targeted a player.
Add to that INEOS’ desire to quickly impress following their minority stake purchase, and we could see some early movement for a few players
