Newcastle United face Manchester United threat over signing TSG Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré this summer.
The winger joined the Bundesliga side from Hammarby IF in February 2025 and was a regular this season.
He scored five goals and contributed 12 assists from 32 matches and is attracting interest from Newcastle United, Manchester United and others.
On April 14th, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that Liverpool express interest in the attacker.
The Bundesliga side want him to their new record sale, surpassing the current record of €43.5m from Joelinton’s move to St. James’ Park in 2019.
Manchester United and Newcastle United also keen
Africa Foot now report Michael Carrick’s side enter the race with the Magpies to sign the 20-year-old.
Newcastle United have identified him as the priority target to improve their attack, after selling Anthony Gordon to Barcelona last week.
They have already made the first move by carrying out direct talks with TSG Hoffenheim, who haven’t said yes yet. The German club want to see if others will come forward for the Ivory Coast international.
Their decision is working out as Manchester United join the battle for Bazoumana Touré.
The Red Devils want him and are ‘seriously pushing to secure’ his services. There’s belief at Old Trafford his profile meets the characteristics they are looking for in a left winger.
Newcastle United believed of having an upper hand but Manchester United’s entering the battle ‘significantly complicates’ their ongoing efforts.
Hoffenheim, for their part, are in a good position for potential negotiations and will hope for a bidding war, to earn as much as possible.
Africa Foot points out a figure of around €40m. Earlier claims stated the Bundesliga side want over €43.5m so that he’s their new record sale.
Manchester United may have edge over Newcastle
Eddie Howe’s side failed to qualify for Europe while Manchester United will play in the Champions League next season. This is another factor that may tempt Touré to pick the Red Devils over the Tyneside club.
Bazoumana Touré’s contract expires in 2029 and he’s valued at €40m by Transfermarkt.
