The search for Manchester United’s next striker continues, with a number of names being linked with a move to Old Trafford ahead of the summer transfer window.
Victor Osimhen appears to be the bookies’ favourite these days, while Harry Kane’s contractual situation makes him a tempting target.
However, there is another man Manchester United are keeping a close eye on, and that’s AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.
The 6’3″ England international is currently working under José Mourinho in Italy, where he has enjoyed himself, even if this season isn’t going as well as the last.
He scored 27 goals in 53 appearances last year for the Serie A side, but that has taken a dip this year, as he has only found the back of the net seven times in 37 games to date.
That doesn’t appear to have put off Manchester United, however, as La Repubblica in Italy claim the Red Devils sent a scout to watch him play against Real Sociedad in the Europa League; a game in which he picked up an assist.
Relayed by Giallorossi.net, the newspaper state both the Premier League side and Borussia Dortmund had an observer there for the striker, as the two clubs have ‘chosen to follow him more closely’.
Something to keep in mind, as we near the backend of the season, when transfer plans start to really take shape for the upcoming window.
