Manchester United’s loss to Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday leaves them 13th in the Premier League table.

Ruben Amorim’s side need to bolster their squad, which clearly does not seem suited to playing the Portuguese coach’s brand of football.

Wing-backs are crucial to Amorim’s system and it now seems as if the Red Devils could be preparing to move for a player who should be capable of that role.

Corriere dello Sport have reported that the player in question is Lecce star Patrick Dorgu. They believe that Manchester United are now serious for the talent and are ‘pressing’ for his signature this month.

They have scheduled a meeting with Lecce, who value their player at something over €30m. The meeting will take place in Italy soon.

At the same time, TuttoSport have also looked at Dorgu’s situation in detail and they believe that Manchester United have ‘increased the pressure’ for the 20-year-old.

They state that the Old Trafford club have scouted Dorgu multiple times in the past few months. More recently, they watched him during Lecce’s game against Juventus and apparently have been left impressed by the starlet’s skillset.

His performances have convinced Manchester United to move for the wing-back, who can also play higher up the pitch and in attacking midfield.

TuttoSport differ slightly from what Corriere dello Sport state, mentioning that Lecce want around €40m for their talent and they are not interested in a January move.

They also mention interest from Chelsea and Tottenham, with Napoli and Juventus said to be big admirers. It is Manchester United though, who seem most serious.
