Manchester United are unlikely to be signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich any time soon, despite claims of renewed interest.
That’s according to Abend Zeitung, who dismiss the rumour, which came from England, and say it’s nothing but regurgitated content.
They cover recent claims from England regarding Gnabry and Manchester United, which have also put Real Madrid in the mix.
That report claimed he could be on his way from Bayern in the near future as the German champions are currently flourishing in attack with Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Mathys Tel and Leroy Sane all doing well and Gnabry seemingly out of the picture as a result.
The belief is that he could be fleeing the competition, but Abend are having none of it, stating that ‘this headline appears every few months’ and it’s nothing more than that.
In fact, they have become so common that Gnabry has ‘gotten used to the stories’ and dismissing them when they come up.
This summer he was doing that again, telling journalists on the tour of Asia that “there were a lot of rumors circulating, even last year – maybe too many but no one has spoken to me directly in the last two years, so I’m relaxed.”
That should have been enough to dismiss the rumours, particularly as he has a contract until 2026 anyway, but then there was Thomas Tuchel’s comments on top.
“He is always ready to give everything for the team. You can be very happy when Serge is in the team,” he is quoted saying.
Those are not comments from a manager who wants rid, nor a player who wants to go, and that, at least according to Abend Zeitung, is enough for anyone to read the current Manchester United rumours and dismiss them out of hand.
