Earlier this week, Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola claimed that Palmeiras made an approach to know the chances of signing Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.
It was reported that the club soon gave up after learning how much the player makes at the Premier League side. It was about six times the salary of Palmeiras’ best paid squad member.
On Thursday, Jorge Nicola published a video with some news, and now says that the only chance this transfer had of happening has actually been turned down by Manchester United.
He says Palmeiras wanted to sign Sanchez on a loan deal, paying a minor part of his wages, leaving the Red Devils with the biggest percentage.
Nicola claims that the possibility has been ‘completely ruled out’ by Manchester United, and that’s the end of the dream for Palmeiras, who are looking for a world class striker to join the club.
Back in his first story, Nicola wrote that Sanchez’s destination could be a European club who can afford his wages, or even a Chinese side.
