In the past few months, Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg has been featuring several tweets about Manchester United’s interest in Napoli Star Victor Osimhen, claiming the Red Devils are one of the favourites to take the striker from the Serie A side.

It turns out the German outlet today features a much more complete story about this chase, talking about all the clubs who are keen on signing the Nigerian player.

Speaking of Manchester United, Plettenberg is quoted by Sky commenting on how strong Manchester United’s pursuit for Osimhen is.

“Manchester United really want him. We’re hearing that he’s also ranked higher than Kolo Muani internally.”

The story also brings some interesting information about the competition for Osimhen, as Manchester United may have an advantage over a couple of interested clubs.

Regarding Bayern Munich, it’s claimed that the striker ‘would not be a perfect match’ because his style wouldn’t completely fit the Bundesliga side’s game. It’s also said that the striker may be too expensive for them. And about Manchester City, it’s claimed that it’s difficult to imagine the 24-year-old partnering up with Erling Haaland.

So despite how hard it should be to get to a deal with Napoli, Manchester United could probably feel more confident about beating those clubs for his signing, although the likes of Chelsea and PSG are said to be interested as well.
