Eintracht Frankfurt are still negotiating with Manchester United over midfielder Donny van de Beek, as they seek to include a purchase clause in any deal for the Dutchman.
That’s according to BILD, who say, ‘the talks are promising’ and an agreement between the two sides is getting closer and closer.
Reports this week have indicated that Frankfurt are looking at a deal for Van de Beek in the January transfer window as he continues to barely feature for Manchester United this season.
BILD continue that today saying the German side ‘wants to strengthen’ with the signing of the midfielder and talks are underway with United to get him.
According to their information an agreement is ‘getting closer and closer’ over a potential loan deal, with Manchester United willing to cover around 60% of his €7m a year wages.
That’s because Frankfurt don’t want to break their wage structure for the player.
Negotiations are yet to be concluded though, as Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche is ‘still fighting’ to get a purchase clause included in the deal. The value of that clause isn’t mentioned but Van de Beek is currently rated at €10m.
Ideally, for them, the Dutchman would be signed in time to join up with the club for the start of training on January 2nd following the German winter break, hence the press to get it done now.
