Manchester United are ‘ready to offer’ between €10-12m to sign Mario Mandžukić in the January transfer window.
United have struggled upfront at the beginning of this season, with the decision to sell Romelu Lukaku and let Alexis Sánchez depart leaving them short up front.
Marcus Rashford has not proven to be the goalscorer United need, Anthony Martial has been injured, and 17-year-old Mason Greenwood needs time to develop.
As such it’s been widely suggested that adding a striker is among the club’s priorities in January, with Mandžukić, someone they tried to sign in the summer, the name most heavily linked.
The Croatian is currently out of favour at Juventus, having failed to appear under Maurizio Sarri this season and a departure looking likely.
That’s according to CalcioMercato.it, who say United are at the front of the queue to try and sign the 33-year-old and have the financial details behind any potential move.
They report that Manchester United are ready to offer between €10-12m for Mandžukić and give him a contract until 2021 worth around €5m. That’s around €104,000 per week (around £90,000), and likely to be after tax.
That’s the deal United agreed with Mandžukić in the summer, and the website believe this new agreement should be finalised ‘in the coming weeks’, ahead of him joining in January.
