Manchester United may have to wait until the end of the Euros to finalise a deal for Bayern Munich’s Matthijs De Ligt, but meanwhile, reports are making it clear that the chase is happening.
Earlier today, we covered a report from website FootMercato which stated Manchester United are in ‘very advanced’ talks with his agent, and want to ‘quickly reach an agreement’ right after the international tournament.
Now it’s time for German outlet Bild to share their own story, this time claiming that Manchester United are taking a ‘big step’ towards a deal with Bayern Munich.
That’s because the Red Devils now seem more keen on paying the €50m demanded by the German club, plus potential bonuses.
It’s claimed that Manchester United want to complete the transfer ‘as quickly as possible’, and with them matching Bayern Munich’s request, ‘nothing should stand in the way’ of a transfer taking place very soon.
With De Ligt currently busy in the Euros, albeit not playing, it seems the talks will be accelerated as soon as he’s out of the tournament. That could happen on Wednesday or Sunday, and either way, the Red Devils seem ready to sign him.
