AC Milan have been working on signing Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund on loan this summer.
On Friday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported there’d been a meeting between the two clubs in London, where the Red Devils have shown openness to sanction a move for the striker.
Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta reports the Serie A side are negotiating with Manchester United for a loan with an option to buy.
It’s claimed the Rossoneri don’t intend to pay more than €5-6m in loan fee and €28-30m for a buying option. Ruben Amorim’s side aim to collect an overall fee of more than €40m.
The 22-year-old needs to be convinced as he isn’t planning to leave and wants to fight for a place even after Benjamin Šeško’s arrival.
Højlund’s agent Kees Voos has ‘sensed’ his role would be further reduced at Old Trafford this season, but his client doesn’t share the same views. The Denmark international isn’t worried about the competition and whether he’ll maintain the same stance until the end of this window remains to be seen.
Calciomercato reports Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United for €6m loan fee. The two clubs have reached a preliminary agreement for the deal, but the buyout figure still has to be negotiated.
The Dane’s agent is ‘already working to understand what kind of opening there is on both sides’.
If there’s a full agreement between Manchester United and Milan, it’ll then be time to convince the frontman. For now, his priority is to stay, and Højlund needs to be convinced to leave this summer.
Manchester United, Milan and Højlund’s agent believe a move could be on the cards, and they have to convince the player.
