Manchester United will soon present an offer for Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio, the Portuguese media says.
O Jogo features an exclusive report claiming that the Red Devils, who’ve been following him for a while, will ‘really advance’ for his signing.
It’s said that Manchester United made a decision about the transfer, and they have Inácio as an objective, regardless of what will happen to Erik ten Hag.
The story highlights that the centre-back is protected by a €60m release clause, but there’s no indication of much the Red Devils are putting on the table.
Portuguese newspapers usually wait for their printed editions to publish stories like this, so this sounds like some very fresh information they just received.
The local media had been saying that Sporting would like to keep Inácio this summer, as their intention would be to sell his defensive partner Ousmane Diomande, who was also linked to Manchester United on Monday morning.
It’s well known that the Ivorian is not having his best days, though, and that’s why the Lions are pushing for his sale now. The Red Devils, who scout all of the Lions’ games, are surely aware of that and could be going for the Portuguese starlet instead.
Gonçalo Inácio is represented by Position Number, which is Miguel Pinho’s agency. As many of you will know, Pinho represents Bruno Fernandes, so it’s intriguing these claims come a day after the Bayern Munich and Barcelona claims regarding the midfielder.
Those claims were also sent to O Jogo first, just like this, and therefore they may well be from the same source.
