Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir ‘tops the list’ for Beşiktaş, who plan to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.
A Spor, relayed by Fotomaç, report that the Manchester United goalkeeper will be a target for the Turkish side this summer.
Top of the list
According to the newspaper, Beşiktaş intend to bolster their goalkeeping ranks this summer. A shortlist is already being drawn up, but Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is sat at the top of it.
The Black-and-Whites are planning to make a move for the Manchester United number two once they have selected their new head coach. There’s no mention on whether he would need to approve the move first.
Bayindir is expected to leave Manchester United this summer after falling down the pecking order behind Senne Lammens. The 28-year-old is very much the number two at Old Trafford moving forwards.
He’s managed just six appearances in all competitions this season, with his last coming all the way back in September. That was following the 3-1 defeat to Brentford.
He had started the season as first choice, but a tally of 11 goals conceded in six games saw an end to that. Reports have repeatedly linked him with a move to Beşiktaş, with the Manchester United goalkeeper even discussing it.
Manchester United demands
Now he’s at the top of the list and they’re planning to move sooner rather than later. It remains to be seen what Manchester United will demand in terms of a transfer fee.
They paid €5m back in 2023 and the goalkeeper is currently rated at €7m. Given his current contract expires in 2027, there’s no immediate need to sell. His contract includes an option to extend for a further year as well.
So, the power is very much in their hands. But Lammens impressing, there’s no reason for this deal to be a particularly difficult one this summer.
