Over the past few weeks, the Italian press have stated Fiorentina like Manchester United’s Victor Lindelöf.
The Serie A side’s desire to sign the defender before the window closes is now backed up by Sky Italia and Il Messaggero.
Lazio are looking to strengthen their defence and Sky Italia say the Manchester United player is ‘top of the list’.
It’s claimed the Biancocelesti are negotiating with the Red Devils for the 30-year-old, and Napoli for midfielder Michael Folorunsho.
Over at Il Messaggero, they also say ‘negotiations are underway’ for both the Sweden international and Folorunsho.
It’s further claimed Erik ten Hag’s side are ready to sell the former Benfica man, but his wages are too high for the Italian club. It feels like Lazio are trying to use Lindelöf’s salary to bring the price down or sign him on favourable terms.
Lindelöf has seen his game time get reduced since the start of last season. His situation won’t improve this season, especially with the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro [currently injured] earlier in this window.
The Swede has less than a year left on his deal and Manchester United would like to cash in from his sale before Friday’s deadline.
