Tyrell Malacia and those who represent the Dutch footballer were told towards the beginning of the January transfer window that they were free to find a loan destination for the rest of the season.

Ruben Amorim obviously didn’t see an important role for Malacia within the squad, and any loan is likely to be aimed at improving the player’s chances of a permanent transfer in the summer window.

Benfica were linked last week, but some of the media around the Lisbon club doubted the move would be useful enough given the competition in Malacia’s position and the injury issues he’s had in recent years.

Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink now reports Malacia is set to join PSV Eindhoven. Another journalist in the Netherlands, Joost Blaauwhof, is reporting similar.

He states the move from Manchester United is happening, as if it were fact, and that Malacia is set to have a medical and then complete the formalities with the Eredivisie club.
