On July 27th, Gazet van Antwerpen reported Anderlecht dream about signing Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen this summer.
The midfielder has less than a year left on his deal. His game time was limited last season and he didn’t feature in the opening game of this campaign.
Anderlecht continue to keep an eye on the Manchester United player and Wednesday’s edition of Het Belang van Limburg brings the latest on their pursuit.
The 32-year-old remains the main target for the Jupiler Pro League side and this would be an ‘unprecedented transfer’ for them. Both Anderlecht manager Brian Riemer and CEO Jesper Fredberg are trying to convince him to join them.
It’s claimed the Belgian club will continue holding talks with the player, his entourage and Erik ten Hag’s side. Riemer knows Eriksen well from their time at Brentford and the report says ‘that’s an asset’ for Anderlecht to try and sign him.
The player knows Anderlecht can’t propose a lucrative deal. He hasn’t yet received any offers that appeals to him and this favours Reimer’s side. A deal depends on Manchester United, who will have to be convinced to sanction a move.
To sum it up, Anderlecht are still alive to carry out an ‘unprecedented transfer’ of Eriksen in this window.
