With Lisandro Martinez leaving Manchester United’s match against Arsenal in the second half, there was some immediate concern about the centre-back’s physical situation.
The Red Devils have been missing the likes of Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount due to injuries, and that could represent another major blow for Erik ten Hag’s side.
However, as shown by ESPN Argentina, Martinez has just arrived for the international break, and doesn’t seem to have any physical issues.
The player was today seen at the Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires, and arrived along with his Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho. ESPN says they’re already ‘starting to prepare’ for the upcoming games.
That’s great news for Argentina as well, because following Martinez’s substitution against Arsenal, manager Lionel Scaloni had called up Lens’ defender Facundo Medina.
As reported by journalist Gaston Edul, the Manchester United player was just in ‘pain’ because of a ‘knock’, with no injury. Still, the national team boss wanted to take precautions about the situation.
Martinez was smiling when arriving in Argentina, and we shall now see how many minutes he gets in the matches against Ecuador and Bolivia.
