As Sergio Romero continues to be completely out of the picture for Manchester United this season, the end of his contract in the summer really looks like the end of the line for him at Old Trafford.

That’s why there’s been many rumours regarding his future, especially about a potential return to Racing, which is highlighted by Fichajes today.

The outlet writes that the Argentine side are looking for a new goalkeeper for next season, and manager José Antonio Pizzi thinks of Romero as the ideal signing.

The Manchester United player is said to be ‘seriously thinking’ of returning to his home country for next season, so joining his old club would pretty much be the best scenario.

Sergio Romero’s task of playing in the Copa Libertadores for Racing is seen by Fichajes as his last deed before retirement.

Signed by Manchester United on a free move from Sampdoria back in 2015, the goalkeeper made 61 appearances for the Red Devils, and hasn’t played a game since August 2020.
