Yesterday, there was a claim in Italy that Manchester United’s real demand for Alejandro Garnacho from Napoli would drop as low as €50m.
There was also a belief that the Italian club are not too far away from meeting the Red Devils’ valuation for the Argentina international.
More has now emerged from the Italian press. Il Mattino, as relayed by AreaNapoli, report Manchester United want only €55m for the player, and it’s claimed Garnacho has already made the ‘promise’ of a move to Napoli directors.
They state Napoli are currently offering €35m for the 20-year-old and another offer is likely to be on the way.
Corriere dello Sport also report Manchester United want around €55m and not over €70m. Despite that, they claim the Old Trafford club will still have to reduce the asking price to sell the player to Napoli.
Corriere dello Sport go on to state there is a real willingness between the two clubs for a deal to take off, with Ruben Amorim’s side troubled by financial issues.
It seems to be another case of the Italian press being overconfident about landing a player who is surely worth more than €50m.
