Manchester United allowed Facundo Pellistri to join Granada on a loan deal in the winter market, after he struggled for regular game time under Erik ten Hag.
The temporary move has paid off for the winger as he’s made five league starts for the La Liga side so far, managing a goal and two assists in the process.
At the weekend, the Manchester United man assisted the Spanish club’s opener against Real Sociedad. Despite taking the lead twice, Granada suffered a 3-2 defeat, with André Silva scoring the winner for La Real in the 85th minute.
Speaking to the club’s media, relayed by today’s Granada Hoy, the 22-year-old revealed he and his teammates were “very sad” with the setback and “how the game turned out.”
Granada are currently 19th in the table, 10 points behind 17th placed Celta Vigo, with a game in hand. The Uruguay international is yet to win with his current club and is well aware they have a tough task to avoid relegation.
The Manchester United owned player has insisted he and his teammates will keep fighting until it’s mathematically impossible for Granada to stay in the top flight.
“This is football. Miracles of this style have been seen and as long as mathematics is with us, we will fight. Attitude can never be missing. We are going to continue down this path, with attitude and fighting until the end. It’s difficult, but you can dream,” he said.
Pellistri will return to Manchester United after his loan spell at Granada.
