Because Diogo Dalot’s contract at Manchester United currently ends in June 2023, there has been a lot of talk about him potentially leaving on a free.
The Red Devils do have an option to extend it by a year, which they are more than likely to do, meaning clubs who want to sign the Portuguese will have to negotiate with the Premier League side.
That is, of course, unless Manchester United manage to extend the player and both sides agree to a new contract, and everything points towards Erik ten Hag pushing for that.
After all, the Dutchman has almost exclusively used Dalot as his right-back this season, and the two seem to get on well.
Still, the Manchester United man has many admirers, with Barcelona reported in Spain as a very keen suitor, while Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday point out that Juventus’ manager wants to sign him.
They look at who could provide competition for Juan Cuadrado, and explain that Dalot ‘remains the dream’ of Max Allegri.
Of course, that’s probably all he will be, since we doubt Juventus will have the money to convince Manchester United, or Erik ten Hag, to sell, leaving someone like Rick Karsdorp, unwanted at AS Roma, as a far more attainable target for the Serie A side.
