Following the successful sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Manchester United have a decent relationship with the Italian side, and could use it again in the near future.
That’s what Inter Live hint at on Thursday, claiming the Serie A club could turn to Old Trafford to bolster their squad after the expected exit of Milan Skriniar.
The two players looked at are Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelöf, as the aforementioned Lukaku could return to Chelsea permanently while the Swede would take over from the Slovakia international.
Lindelöf’s contact at Manchester United expires in 2024 (with an option of an extra year), and therefore he could ‘pack his bags a year in advance’, and both he and the Frenchman are to be considered ‘outgoing’ at the Premier League side.
This is when the values come in, with the forward said to be worth around €20m, while the centre-back is said to have a market at around €15m.
The defender’s profile is one that ‘greatly intrigues’ Piero Ausilio, but it’s made clear Martial is a tough target to for Inter seeing as he reportedly earns €15m/year post tax at Manchester United (far too much for the Italians), and considering his contract expires in 2024, a loan would be off the table unless his one-year extension is triggered.
Therefore, only Lindelöf is attainable, and following numerous links of Inter interest, it’s one that probably should be taken a bit more seriously.
