Manchester United managed to get a 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, in a result which isn’t great for either club’s aims in the Premier League right now.
Towards the end of the match, Erik ten Hag brought Sofyan Amrabat on, presumably with the hope of tightening things up and calming the chaos-football on display.
Casemiro didn’t have a good game, and there was some surprise that it was Alejandro Garnacho who went off for Amrabat and not the Brazilian.
Garnacho had been an outlet from pressure for Manchester United, although Ten Hag may have felt the youngster was tiring.
Amrabat didn’t manage to provide a great contribution and he’s been somewhat mocked by an Italian pundit.
Sky Italia pundit Massimo Marianella clearly isn’t a fan and Labaro Viola say he’s been ‘very harsh’ to Amrabat.
They quote him as saying: “Amrabat thought he would be making a difference at United, but he certainly didn’t make a positive difference… he will return to Fiorentina and then Viola will decide what to do with him.
“Dalot sent Amrabat to hell for a lost ball in the 96th minute, not a player for these matches.”
Amrabat will almost certainly be returning to La Viola in the summer, and Marianella feels it’ll be with his tail between his legs.
