Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is back being linked with a return to Argentina.
This time, as reported by outlet El Intransigente, it’s Boca Juniors who are interested in signing the 30-year-old.
The La Bombonera side have just qualified for the Copa Libertadores’ semifinals, and president Juan Roman Riquelme wants national team players in their squad.
El Intrasigente takes previous reports to say Manchester United would demand US$5m to let Marcos Rojo go, and that would be no problem for Boca Juniors.
It’s said that Boca Juniors had been interested in Rojo earlier this year, when he was having a loan spell at Estudiantes de La Plata. But at that stage, the player didn’t want to switch to a rival club.
Rojo spent six months in Argentina in 2020, and only made one appearance for Estudiantes, as he was stopped by injuries and the Coronavirus pandemic.
Since returning to Manchester United in the summer, he was never used by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again.
