Christian Eriksen’s time at Manchester United could be coming to an end, according to claims on Wednesday evening.
TuttoMercatoWeb shares a fresh story pointing out that the midfielder is out of the club’s ‘project’, and could leave the Red Devils at the end of the season.
It’s said that even though Eriksen managed to stay at Manchester United following the January transfer window, his absence in Erik ten Hag’s starting team is a clear sign that he no longer has a place there.
The website says there’s a ‘fair chance’ he’ll leave in the summer, and a potential ‘path’ is a return to Ajax. It’s said this possibility ‘could acquire substance and concreteness’ very soon.
Eriksen has 19 appearances for Manchester United this season, but has indeed lost space in the past few weeks, especially after Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay became important players for Ten Hag.
The Danish player did not leave the bench in the last four Premier League games, and with big changes expected at Old Trafford in the summer, it may be time for the 32-year-old to move on.
