AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori has ended up in the sights of Manchester United, according to a report from Italy.
The 25-year-old has been a regular for the Serie A side, making 38 appearances this season. He’s become an object of desire for a few Premier League sides.
That’s at least what Calciomercato.it are reporting and they name only Manchester United as a suitor.
It’s claimed the Red Devils intend to bring in a new defender in the summer, which is why they are ‘thinking’ about the England international.
Tomori, Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjær and Malick Thiaw are the four centre-backs currently available for the Rossoneri.
Milan are fifth in the table, level on points with fourth placed Inter Milan. They will have to sell before making new signings, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
In that case, Calciomercato.it state Tomori and Kalulu would be used to make cash in the summer. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are in the picture to sign them.
Tomori has a deal until 2027 and a ‘super offer’ of €50-60m could see Milan sanction his sale in the summer.
For now, Erik ten Hag’s side are only ‘thinking’ about Tomori. A potential approach from Manchester United may depend on one of their current centre-backs leaving Old Trafford after this season.
