Over the weekend, Manchester United scouts were present at the San Siro to watch Atalanta’s Serie A game against AC Milan.

It was suggested that they kept a close eye on both Matteo Retegui and midfielder Ederson, with the Brazilian having found the back of the net on the night.

More information has now emerged about Manchester United’s scouting mission in Italy. Quotidiano Sportivo have reported that while Ederson impressed ‘decisively’, the officials were also present to ‘admire’ Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.

The report speaks of a positive relationship between the two clubs and they also mention an amount that Manchester United will have to pay for Lookman and Retegui combined.

That figure stands at €60m right now and a similar fee would be needed to sign Ederson in the summer.

As confident as Quotidiano Sportivo are, it seems to be a case of just throwing names out there.

That is because the UK press is sure that Ruben Amorim’s side see Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha as targets in attack. This potentially rules out any moves for Lookman or Retegui and all things point towards Ederson being the Atalanta player the club is watching.
