Gareth Bale has seen his first team appearances limited for Real Madrid in 2018, but he finished the season by scoring a brace in the Champions League final against Liverpool.
Just minutes after the final whistle, he expressed his unhappiness over the lack of playing time and suggested he would consider his future at the club. Zinedine Zidane preferred Isco ahead of the Wales international when having to make the decisions.
This all led to endless transfer rumours, most linking Bale with a move to Manchester United. Since he was at Southampton the Welshman has been constantly pushed towards Old Trafford.
Zidane stepped down as Real’s manager and and was replaced by former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui, and AS claim the Frenchman’s exit from the Spanish capital club has made things better for Bale.
The 28-year-old is currently on a holiday and once he returns to Europe, he will hold talks with new Real manager about his future.
Another possibility is that Real could replace Ronaldo with Neymar, if the former pushed for a transfer, but the La Liga outfit are unlikely to allow the Portuguese international to make a move away from the club this summer.
The biggest worry for Bale is that Isco could be preferred ahead of him, even by Lopetegui. This could force him to consider his future.
AS claims Bale is not short of offers because out of the ones that he has received, Manchester United’s offer “seduces” the player. Real Madrid are unwilling to do business if they receive a fee of less than €150m.
