Manchester United are ready to pay €60m to sign defender Kim Min-jae from Napoli this summer, with an ‘offensive’ now underway.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say a deal is there to be done if Manchester United come calling at the end of the season.
They explain that Napoli’s director of football Cristiano Giuntoli is planning for a busy year, with several of the Italian side’s prized assets likely to be targeted by big clubs in Europe.
Kim is one of them and if Manchester United ‘knocks with their feet’ while holding a €60m offer for the defender, then the only option is to talk about a deal.
That process is something that has already started and while there is no direct correspondence between the relevant parties, there is a belief the transfer ‘could be done quickly’.
Napoli would be sad to see the defender leave but accept that there is a serious capital gain to be made on someone they paid €18m for a year ago.
Manchester United are more than keen and are ‘waiting to know the real amount’ that they’ll need to pay to secure his signature in a transfer that looks increasingly likely to happen after the player’s impressive campaign.
