Having both struggled to score goals at one point this season, Manchester United and Newcastle United are likely to address the situation in the summer, if not January.
A few names have been linked with each club, and while the duo could try and spend a lot of cash on someone like Victor Osimhen down the line, more affordable options are also being looked at.
One of those is Joshua Zirkzee, whom Manchester United and Newcastle are both keeping an eye on, according to Il Resto del Carlino, relayed by TuttoBolognaWeb.
The Dutch striker is one of the reasons why Bologna are doing so well this year, and the belief is, if he ‘remains constant’ between now and the end of the season, he will be ‘bombarded’ with offers in the next transfer window.
That’s when they reveal that Manchester United, Newcastle, AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli are ‘spying’, with each and every club ‘very interested’ by what the 23-year-old 6ft 4in striker has to offer.
Still, it seems unlikely that Bologna will part ways with their man in January, meaning any club would have to wait until the end of the campaign.
To date this season, Zirkzee has found the back of the net eight times in 21 appearances, as well as assisted another four.
