Manchester United need at least €65-70m if they wish to sign Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund this summer.
That’s according to Corriere della Sera’s Bergamo edition, who say that it is not certain that the striker will leave in the summer as has been reported.
They explain that the striker’s value is a question that ‘has absolutely not answer’ at this moment in time as no offers have come in for him.
At the moment it has only been a case of ‘appreciations’, with it very much a reality that clubs will need to finish the season before they decide what to do.
Manchester United are one of the clubs who are believed to be keen, with several reports putting them in the mix and a recent claim that they have €50m ready to sign him with.
There is, though, the possibility of a ‘super offer’ arriving from one of his suitors and therefore turning the tables and the plans completely.
There are plenty of suitors for him too, with Juventus and Inter Milan options in Italy, Bayern Munich looking for a striker in Germany and even Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid potentially in the market for a striker.
Then there is Manchester United, who need to find a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and the player having openly admitted he is a huge fan of the club.
At the moment there is no valuation on the player but a base of €65-70m is seen as a perfect starting position as it is difficult to find a player who ‘scores like this’.
What has really impressed his suitors is his ‘wickedness and speed, his power in the breakaway and his flair for goal’, something he’s also shown on the international stage with Denmark.
