The race between Inter Milan and Manchester United to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich today gets another update from the Italian media.
This time, it’s newspaper Corriere Dello Sport writing the story, and explaining that the Nerazzurri have a big advantage in the race.
The outlet is confident that Pavard wants to join Inter Milan, however, it’s not stated he doesn’t want Manchester United.
The problem continues to be that the Serie A side are still to meet Bayern Munich’s request. The Italian club already offered a package of €25m, and the Bundesliga giants continue to demand €35m.
A reason Bayern Munich aren’t giving any discounts is that Manchester United continue to hover the negotiations with a ‘virtual’ €40m offer, which will only be placed once they get to sell Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils are called a ‘bogeyman’, as they’re currently the biggest threat for Inter Milan.
The newspaper quotes Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marota, who, at the weekend highlighted that Pavard’s priority continues to be to sign for the Serie A giants.
“The will of the player is certainly important. The player has expressed his desire to come with us and it is a lot. Bayern is very rich, it is difficult to give up its elements of greater quality and depth.”
