Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United have Palmeiras’ Vitor Roque on their agenda, according to Wednesday’s edition of Sport.
The striker has regained his best form with the Brazilian club, since joining them from Barcelona in February.
He arrived at Barcelona in July 2023 and struggled in his debut season. The La Liga side sent him on loan to Real Betis a year later and cut short his stay there, to sell him to Palmeiras.
On Tuesday, O Golobo reported Manchester United are said to be planning to make an offer of around €50m. They aren’t alone as Chelsea and West Ham are also in the picture.
Roque’s agent André Cury told Globo Esporte that he’s waiting to receive an offer from the Premier League.
“We already had an offer from the Arab world for €35m, which didn’t interest us. Now we are waiting to receive a proposal of around €50m from the Premier League,” he said.
Sport relay that and then give their own information on this case. They report negotiations are underway and there could be possible movements.
The newspaper states Manchester United are one of the ‘most interested’ clubs and have already sent scouts to watch him live. Chelsea and West Ham are also following the Brazil international.
It’s claimed Roque’s idea is to stay at Palmeiras until next summer, in order to play in the 2026 World Cup. Barca are keeping a close watch the developments around his future.
The report explains Barcelona retain 20% of his rights, meaning they would earn €10m if Roque’s sold for €50m.
Manchester United invested big on Benjamin Šeško last summer. Taking this into account, it’s unlikely they would bet on Roque in 2026. The Red Devils may be being used to put pressure on other Premier League suitors.
