Manchester United are today back to being linked with Santos striker Marcos Leonardo.
The information comes from Brazil, where R7 journalist Fabiano Farah shares an update on the player’s situation.
Following Santos’ relegation to the second division, Marcos Leonardo does not want to stay at the club, and they’re not expected to make his departure difficult.
Manchester United are said to be ‘monitoring the situation’, although there’s no information about a bid from them for now.
The Red Devils should just be attentive to the big competition there is for him, because Premier League rivals Arsenal are said to be preparing a €17m offer for the striker.
Previous reports from the Brazilian media had claimed that Santos would accept something between €15m and €20m for the player, so the Gunners’ offer may be enough for a deal.
That’s more than a strong message for Manchester United to move quickly, in case they’re really interested.
Marcos Leonardo scored 21 goals for Santos this season, and has been showing big potential for a while, which could turn into an interesting cheap option to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s attack.
