Andreas Pereira is ‘one step away’ from signing for Lazio, report Il Messaggero on Sunday.

The 24-year-old hasn’t been involved for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, and an exit has been rumoured for some months. Despite it being clear the player was likely available, there hasn’t been the interest he probably expected, with a Valencia rumour amounting to nothing.

Now things sounds a lot more concrete, but not finalised yet.

The newspaper explains there’s confidence in England that a move is pretty much agreed. Pereira would go on loan to the Serie A club, who would then be obliged to make that a permanent deal for €10m next summer.

However, at Lazio’s base they’re urging caution. The club have got several transfers, in and out, to complete over the next week or so and don’t want to suggest deals are done when that may not be the case.

They need to get exits sorted before completing signings, and that’s why Wesley Hoedt’s medical was cancelled at the end of last week.

Gazzetta dello Sport are also reporting Pereira’s potential move, but they believe it would be a loan with a buying option, rather than obligation.
