Napoli are currently meeting with Manchester United to discuss a deal with Alejandro Garnacho and find a solution that satisfies everyone.
That’s according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who reports that there is a ‘meeting in progress’ between the two sides. According to him, the various parties want to reach a solution that suits everyone.
Area Napoli, meanwhile, have an update from Sky and their journalist Luca Marchetti on the matter. He insisted that a meeting hadn’t taken place as yet but stated that one was planned.
“Manchester United are in Italy to talk to Lecce about Dorgu and Napoli about Garnacho,” he said.
“The meeting hasn’t taken place yet, but it will be important. There is a basic agreement between Napoli and Garnacho regarding the salary. He has been identified as Kvara’s heir, but now there is intense negotiation to be done with Manchester, who have asked for £70m.
“Napoli want to get to the point, because they believe he is ready immediately for the head-to-head in the league with Inter and also for the future. Napoli is ready to make a major investment, but not under those conditions.
“The Azzurri are confident and are counting on the player’s support to unblock the situation: Alejandro must put pressure on Manchester United. The deal could go through with the inclusion of percentages on the future resale.
This latest report comes on the back of claims yesterday that Garnacho was ready to undergo a medical with Napoli.
That bold claim came from journalist Gerardo Fasano, who stated a deal had been agreed between Napoli and Manchester United already. He even claimed, boldly, that Garnacho could be considered a Napoli player.
That was a little ahead of the mark. However, it seems conversations are now happening between the relevant parties.
There is increased confidence in Italy that Napoli can get their man. All indications are that he is a direct request for Antonio Conte and the Italian side are seemingly happy to buy Garnacho for him.
It will likely depend on these latest talks, but the fact that Manchester United are even holding them will likely lead to more Napoli confidence later today.
