Manchester United may need to move quickly if they wish to sign Djurgarden’s Lucas Bergvall, as Inter Milan’s efforts to get him appear to be working.

That’s according to FC Inter News, who cover how the Italian side appear to be stepping ahead of the competition for the midfielder.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Bergvall over the last year or so, with their interest first reported in January last year that one of their scouts had taken note of him.

It was then confirmed earlier this year that they had paid a visit to watch him, and a report last week indicated Inter Milan, who also like him, had to watch out as Manchester United are very much in the mix.

It seems, though, they may now be ahead in the race, at least according to FC Inter News’ latest information.

They explain that Inter have ‘accelerated’ for the player and are ready to offer him a three-year deal plus an option for a further two years.

They say that ‘English clubs’, so no specific mention of Manchester United to be clear, and RB Leipzig are also watching Bergvall ‘with interest’ and could make ‘rich offers’ for the player but he and his family liked the Nerazzurri project, and the facilities shown to them during a scouting trip to Italy.

That’s proven to be enough to put Inter ahead of the rest of the competition, which would presumably include Manchester United given their well-established interest at this point.
