Manchester United’s Alex Telles will undergo an MRI scan today to assess whether his World Cup with Brazil is over.
That’s according to team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, who has confirmed the fullback is struggling with pain in his knee.
Telles started last night’s final Group C clash with Cameroon after Tite elected to name a rotated side given Brazil had already qualified for the knockout stages.
The Manchester United man, who is currently on loan at Sevilla, was handed his chance to impress but was forced off in the 54th minute following a clash with Franck Zambo Anguissa.
He was replaced by Marquinhos and was seen hobbling off the pitch, with concerns that the blow to his knee could prove to be the end of his time in Qatar.
Further examinations will be held today to determine that, and Lasmar has confirmed the Manchester United loanee will undergo an MRI scan for that very purpose.
“Today we had two medical problems,” MSN report him saying.
“Alex Telles left the game complaining of pain in his right knee after a trauma, he has been assessed in the dressing room now and an MRI scan will be performed tomorrow to assess a little better.
“After these tests we will give more details.”
