Coming off injured in the game against Paris Saint-Germain, Eric Bailly was taken off for the second time of the season due to injury.

The first came in the 1-0 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt, although the Manchester United loanee only missed the one game, before returning to the bench and then the starting line up.

This time, however, seems a bit different, as there has been no announcement regarding a return date, which normally tends to happen to give fans an idea of when a player might be back.

That hasn’t happened for the Manchester United man, which raises a few concerns, especially since he is also missing from the Marseille squad travelling to face Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

This comes courtesy of L’Equipe, who point out both Bailly and Pape Gueye aren’t in the group of 19 players heading to face the Bundesliga side, simply stating the Ivory Coast international is ‘still injured’.

The problem is his right thigh, and it’s a problem he has struggled with for quite some time, dating back to his Manchester United days.

Such a situation is exactly what both Marseille and the Red Devils will have wanted to avoid, because Bailly has indeed played well when fit, but that last part is the real issue.
